Precondition the affected
area with a solution of white distilled vinegar and water (1 part vinegar
to 1 part water). This will neutralize the pH and help breakdown the
alkaline salts and suppress the ammonia odor.
|
 |
Apply a generous amount of Up Out and Away
to affected area. Let it sit for 5 - 10
minutes. Put a white cloth over affected area. Stand on cloth
to absorb as much solution as possible.
|
 |
Again apply
a generous amount of Up Out and Away
to the same area. Use a white damp
cloth and apply to area. Allow cloth to sit on area for 30 - 40
minutes.

 |
If you have
an extraction machine (can be purchased at a retail store), remove as much
solution and remaining stain as possible.
|
 |
If you do
not have an extraction machine, leave the damp cloth on the area, cover it
with plastic wrap (this keeps it moist) and put a heavy object on top of
the plastic wrap and let it sit for 24 hours. The remaining solution
and stain will transfer to the cloth. This step
is important. If you do not draw the liquid/stain out of
your carpet it will only be diluted. Have you wondered why the
smell remains after all that stuff you've put on it?
|
 |
If the stain
reappears in a few days repeat above procedures.
|
 |
When the
area is completely dry, simply vacuum the area to remove any remaining dry
agents. |
